Background
Professor of
Native
American Studies and Anthropology at UC Davis from 1969 to 1994 (now retired). Dr. Forbes is a
Native
American of Powhatan and Delaware background who has authored many books and articles. He is also a published poet and author of short
stories. He organized the
Native
American movement in 1961, co-founded the California Indian Education Association (1967) and the D-Q University (1971).
